Green Team VUB
The Green Team are the eyes and hands of the university for their humanistic sustainability strategy.
The department for Health, Safety and the Environment heard about the Green Office Model from rootAbility. They felt that applying it at the VUB would enable them to engage more with students and staff members and so established the Green Team in 2014 as the “eyes and hands” of the department in the university community.
As the graph below shows, the team consits of 4 student employees (paid 15 hours per week). The Green Team works with volunteers ad-hoc. The students are supported by the environmental coordinator. The Green Team is part of the broader environmental department.
