Green Office Konstanz
The Green Office is the student-lead department for sustainable development of Konstanz University. It is active in education, research and the operations of the university itself.
The university had abolished the position of sustainability coordinator. That situation left nobody responsible for sustainability anymore. A group of students realised this as a problem and proposed the Green Office as a solution to establish a student-led sustainability office. The Green Office was then established in 2015. The team got start-up funding for two years and now continues to mobilize funding and support through different channels.
As the graph below shows, the team consits of 6 student employees (paid 5 hours per week). The Green Office works with volunteers ad-hoc. The students are supported by the director of the student office.
