Gothenburg Students for Sustainability
Three Student Sustainability Coordinators work together with the rest of the sustainability team coordinating the environmental management system at the University of Gothenburg. By hiring three students, the ambition is to get a student perspective into the sustainability work carried out at the University.
There was already an active environmental department, but the Green Office model seemed like a good addition to further involve students. With a general reorganisation of the department, funds were then made available to pilot a student team to work with the existing staff. The Green Office was founded in 2016.
As the graph below shows, the three student employees (paid 8 hours per week) work together with the rest of the environmental management team. They also have a tight connection to the student sustainability association network at the university.
